For the past 12 years Rob acquired expertise in relationship marketing in roles incorporating strategy development, new business and program implementation.  During his five years at Carlson Marketing Group, Rob was a leader in bringing in Adelphia Cable and Amtrak consumer loyalty accounts.  He also directed a 25-person Partnership Marketing team that secured and managed partnerships for clients Visa USA, Merrill Lynch and others.  Rob also was part of an international team that launched a customer loyalty program in Poland.  As Director Business Development at BI, Rob was twice named to President’s Club as a top new business performer.  He led in landing new clients Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and BP and contributed to acquiring Visa USA and Sabre.  Leading teams with BI strategists, creatives and data analysts, Rob developed the dexterity to quickly assess marketplace opportunities and create actionable, measurable program recommendations for prospects and clients. Rob has developed a reputation as a superior writer and a solid presenter. For Internet loyalty start-up Next Jump, he focused on new business in the retail, telecom and insurance industries and was part of a team that developed Borders Rewards Perks online enhancement to Borders’ successful loyalty program.

Earlier, Rob worked in consumer promotions, where he first discovered his aptitudes for concept development and new business. At McCracken Brooks, Rob mastered a process for collaborating with colleagues to quickly develop break-through promotional concepts.  Those skills helped him to bring in and grow what became the agency’s largest account in US WEST.  At WatersMolitor, he managed a team overseeing half of the agencies clients, including Pillsbury.

Rob began his career in advertising account service at Campbell Mithun, which provided a lasting deference for consumer-centered, distinctive brand positioning.  He also learned early to nurture client relationships that allow for vigorous defense of great ideas.  Rob contributed to several national ad campaigns including new product launches for Toro and US WEST.


Rob is a former adjunction instructor at the University of Minnesota, where for four years he taught Consumer Behavior.
